Dr.+Lewis

Christopher Lewis, DVM

Founding Partner & medical director

Dr. Lewis grew up catching insects and playing with his grandpa’s pets in San Antonio, Texas—interests that would inspire a decades-long career. After graduating from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Lewis caught a different kind of bug—this one for emergency medicine. Following completion of an internship at a specialty practice in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Lewis joined a 24-hour clinic and went on to run their E.R. department. To broaden his experience, he worked for three years as a Medical Director at a successful primary care practice before returning to emergency medicine as a Medical Director for seven years.

Now, Dr. Lewis brings his expertise and passion to the Pacific Northwest, where his commitment to high quality medicine, love of mentoring, and deep respect for veterinary technicians and support staff serve as the foundation for the Bellevue area’s premier emergency and specialty hospital.

Anastacia Davis, DVM, MS Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Small Animal)

Surgeon

Dr. Anastacia Davis grew up as an Air Force kid traveling around the world with her family until 1999 when her family moved to Redmond, WA for the remainder of her education. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 2014 and completed her rotational internship in medicine and surgery at Seattle Veterinary Specialists (Kirkland) in 2015. She traveled to southern Florida to complete a surgical internship at Coral Springs Animal Hospital and followed with a research fellowship at the University of Georgia in 2017. She then completed her small animal surgical residency and Master’s degree at VirginiaTech University in 2020 and was board certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2021. She has spent the last two years enjoying the beaches and sunshine but is excited to move back to the Pacific Northwest to enjoy the evergreen experience once more. 

Dr. Davis enjoys all aspects of surgery and is trained to perform a variety of orthopedic, neurologic and soft tissue procedures with focus and interest on oncologic, cardiothoracic, wound treatment and reconstruction, cranial cruciate ligament disease, intervertebral disc disease, and fracture management. Dr. Davis is passionate about patient care, clear communication, and providing a safe and trusting environment for every client to help make medical decisions as smooth as possible during some of the most stressful times in a pet’s life. Apart from small animal surgery she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs, Perdita and Diamond, traveling, hiking, playing video games, painting/drawing, and reading.

Tracie Romsland, DVM, MS, DAVCP (Clinical Pathology), MS-TCVM

Clinical Pathologist

Dr. Romsland worked in multiple facets of the profession prior to vet school including client care, veterinary assisting, and eventually became a licensed veterinary technician and companion animal massage and physical rehabilitation practitioner. After several years in the industry, she decided to pursue veterinary school. She graduated from Washington State University in 2007 and went on to complete a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at the Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital of the ASPCA in NYC. Following that, she completed a clinical pathology residency back at Washington State University. For the first couple of years post residency, she worked in academics and diagnostics prior to becoming the staff clinical pathologist at Friendship Hospital For Animals in Washington, D.C. where she provided diagnostic support for GP, ER, and specialist clinicians for 9 years. She also became certified in veterinary acupuncture and completed her Master’s of Science in Veterinary Traditional Chinese Medicine through Chi University in Reddick, FL.

Duane Robinson, DVM, PhD Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Small Animal)

Surgeon

Duane Robinson, DVM, Ph.D., DACVS-SA, is a board-certified Veterinary Surgeon with extensive experience in soft tissue and orthopedic procedures. Following completion of his residency and PhD at the University of Minnesota, he was on faculty at Louisiana State University and the University of California, Davis. He has been providing specialty services in the Seattle area since 2017 and is excited to return to a specialty and emergency hospital.

Krystal Chan, DVM

Emergency

Dr. Chan grew up on the east coast. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 2018 and completed her internship in emergency and critical care medicine at DoveLewis Animal Emergency Hospital (Portland, Or) in 2019. She then went on to private practice as an emergency clinician in Houston, Tx. Her love of cooler weather brought her back to the Pacific Northwest. In her free time she enjoys snuggling with her cat (Kitten Little), traveling, scuba diving, and exploring vegetarian food options.

Akiko Koshino, DVM DACVIM (Oncology)

Oncologist

Dr. Koshino grew up in Yokohama, Japan and received her veterinary degree from the University of Tokyo in 2005. It was during the clinical year at vet school that she developed a passion for oncology and after graduating, she moved to the Unites States to pursue further training. Following completion of a small animal rotating internship at Iowa State University, Dr. Koshino completed an oncology internship at Western Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre in Calgary, Canada. She then completed an oncology residency at Michigan State University and received board certification in medical oncology in 2015. After completing her residency, Dr. Koshino worked at private practices in Chicago for 5 years and has been working in the Seattle area since 2019.

Dr. Koshino offers a variety of treatments from advanced multimodal therapy to palliative care and believes that the patient’s quality of life is one of the most important factors in guiding treatment. She understands that a cancer diagnosis can be difficult and scary and is here to help the clients make the best decisions for their pets and family. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband and their daughter, two dogs, two cats, and tortoise.

Kayode Garraway, DVM, MS, DACVIM

Internist

Dr. Garraway was born in the southern Caribbean but moved to southern Florida in his early teenage years. In Florida, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology/Animal Science at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, and then remained at the University of Florida for a few more years performing research under his mentors in human Oncology and Brain Trauma, while intermittently volunteering his time at both human hospitals and veterinary clinics in Odessa Florida, Gainesville Florida and, occasionally, back in the Caribbean. From 2009 to 2012 he attended St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine, and then went on to complete his clinical year of veterinary school at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh, North Carolina. Immediately following this, in 2013, he completed a year of a rotating Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, in Knoxville Tennessee, followed by a year of a specialty internship in veterinary critical care and internal medicine in Houston, Texas, at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Garraway then completed a residency at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, in veterinary Internal Medicine from 2015 to 2018, while also completing a Master of Science in Veterinary Clinical Sciences, with a substantial focus on research in veterinary gastroenterology and clinical pathology, with a minor focus on veterinary oncology. His veterinary research led to him being published in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and Today’s Veterinary Practice. After Dr. Garraway completed his residency, including successfully completing his veterinary boards in Internal Medicine, he worked for 5 years as a veterinary Internist with another veterinary specialty facility, before joining the team as a veterinary Internist at Bellevue Veterinary Emergency and Specialty in Bellevue, Washington. 

His professional interests include gastroenterology, hepatology, nephrology, management of infectious diseases and the management of endocrinopathies.  His interests and attention to detail have allowed him to hone his procedural skills in Internal Medicine, over the years, leading to his proficiency in endoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, cystoscopy, arthrocentesis, specialized biopsies, and bone marrow sampling. His skill set is exceeded only by his sympathetic and empathetic approach to evidence-based medicine in management and treatment of his patients and communication with his clients. 

Dr. Garraway enjoys spending time with his family, including his two Labradors, and his hobbies include reading, sporting activities of most types, when he does have the time, hiking, and indulging in small projects at home.

Megan Davis, DVM, DACVECC

Criticalist

Dr. Megan Davis was born and bred in the Pacific northwest. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary medicine from Washington State University in 2010. She completed her rotating internship and emergency/critical care residency at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston and received board certification in emergency/critical care in 2014. She has since worked in private practice in the Bay Area and Seattle and has previously telemedicine consulted with other veterinarians on emergency/critical care patients. She chairs the identification and verification subcommittee for the veterinary committee on trauma (VetCOT). Her clinical interests include trauma, critical care anesthesia, acute pain management, respiratory emergencies, antibiotic stewardship, and sepsis. Outside of work she enjoys good food and wine, dabbling in dog training, travel, horseback riding, hiking and is an avid reader.

Kayla Erickson, DVM

Emergency

Dr. Kayla Erickson was born and raised in Montana. She earned her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2015 from Washington State University. Go Cougs!

Initially she moved back home and worked in a general practice and emergency hospital for 4 years. Realizing her strong interest in emergency medicine, Dr. Erickson moved to Wisconsin to work in a large specialty hospital as an emergency associate. Missing the mountains of Montana, she moved back to Montana and became a traveling emergency doctor since 2020.

Over her last 8 years of practicing, Dr. Erickson has developed a strong interest in soft tissue surgery, poly-trauma, and improving the lives of our senior patients. 

In her Free time, Dr. Erickson loves hiking, fishing, and camping in the Montana wilderness. She has a senior German Shorthaired Pointer named Tye and a senior cat named Eclipse.

Nicholas Szigetvari, DVM DACVIM (Oncology)

Oncologist

Dr. Szigetvari is a University of Illinois graduate who began his veterinary profession as a general practice veterinarian in Chicago, Illinois. After several years of this invaluable experience setting the tone for his approach to veterinary medicine, he decided to pursue a career focused entirely on medical oncology.

He finds particular satisfaction in connecting with pets and owners during the challenging time of cancer diagnosis. It is his goal to help make clearer the complexity of the condition and form an individualized treatment plan for pets that meet owner’s needs while also preserving quality of life for pets.

While away from work Dr. Szigetvari enjoys live music, playing guitar, wood working, landscaping, trying new culinary creations, camping through our national parks and forests with his dogs (Mabel, Lucille) and his girlfriend. He also enjoys making sense of the irrational behaviors of their cat, Squish.

Anne Marie Burrell, DVM

Dr. Burrell is a Canadian transplant where she grew up on a hobby farm with sheep, goats, poultry and horses. In 2010 she graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon and has been working as an emergency veterinarian since 2011.

Outside the clinic she is kept quite busy managing a small acreage with her wonderful husband Mike, their three dogs, innumerable Persian cats and several horses.

Courtney Moeller, DVM

Practice Limited to Internal Medicine

Dr. Moeller grew up in a small town outside of Flint, Michigan. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Brain, Behavior & Cognitive Science from the University of Michigan in Ann
Arbor, Michigan in 2015. Dr. Moeller graduated from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019 and completed a Small Animal Rotating Internship in Kirkland,
Washington in 2020. She then traveled to Washington D.C., where she completed a one year Small Animal Internal Medicine Internship. She completed a residency in Small Animal
Internal Medicine at University of California, Davis in 2024.

Dr. Moeller’s professional interests include nephroplogy and urology, interventional radiology, endocrinology and autoimmune disease.

In her spare time, Dr. Moeller loves spending time with her family, which includes her husband, dog and three cats. She enjoys any outdoor activity including kayaking,
paddleboarding, hiking, backcountry camping, and mushroom foraging. When indoors, she particularly loves watercolor painting and quilting.

TPhillips

Tom Phillips, DVM

Dr. Phillips is originally from Pennsylvania. He completed undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University before moving west, graduating from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and completing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery in Sacramento, CA. His professional interests include emergency and critical care, trauma, and anesthesia and pain management.

Dr. Phillips also serves in the Washington Army National Guard. Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their
two cats, mountain biking, hiking, and working on cars.

Meghan Harmon, DVM

Originally from Missouri, Dr. Harmon has been living in the Pacific Northwest for 8 years. She graduated from Mizzou in 2010 and has been a diplomate in Emergency and Critical Care since 2014.
Her professional interests include coagulation, trauma, neonatal critical care, and the management of critical ICU patients.

When she is not at work, Dr. Harmon enjoys rock climbing, training for triathlon/marathon, and spending time with her husband, 2 dogs, and 2 large Maine coon cats.

Claire Johnston, DVM

Dr Johnston grew up in a small town in Northern California and initially developed a love for veterinary medicine during her undergraduate education at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Advancing through veterinary school, she quickly became passionate about small animal internal medicine and went on to complete an internship at a private practice in San Francisco and then completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Iowa State University in 2019.

Dr Johnston keeps busy with her own animals (three adorable and mischievous cats) and enjoys exploring all the beauty the PNW has to offer with her partner and friends. She has also been taking pottery courses and is quickly outfitting those in her life with various ceramic creations.

Dr Johnston values the human-animal bond and strives to strengthen that bond while also improving the quality of life of her patients and their humans. She enjoys numerous aspects of internal medicine with a special interest in gastrointestinal disease and nutrition along with auto-immune and hormonal diseases.
